    Q. You would not want my blood. I am a common group?

    We constantly need donors of all blood groups.

     

    Q. I am too old !

    If you are between 17 and 60 years and in good health you can donate!

     

    Q. But I am underweight!

    Not, if you are 45 Kg. Or more, and in good health, you can donate blood.

     

    Q. Oh! But I am anemic!

    Blood is tested for anemia before every donation.

     

    Q. But it will make me weak?

    Blood donation has no ill effect on the body . you can resume your daily routine duties immediately after blood donation. The amount of blood donated is recouped by the body in short time and you can donate blood again after 3 months.

     

    Q. But is it safe to donate blood ?

    Yes! Absolutely safe - all equipment used is sterile and disposable. Thus, there is no risk of any infection including AIDS.

     

    Q: Should I eat before my blood donation?

    It is best to eat 2-4 hours prior to your donation.

     

    Q: How long does the collection process take?

    The actual collection of the blood takes 5-10 minutes. However, it will take 20-30 minutes to complete the unique labels and paperwork necessary to assure proper identification of your blood unit by the hospital.

     

    Q: Should I stop taking my medications before my donation appointment?

    Even though we will ask for a list of the medications you are taking, you should continue taking them as instructed by your doctor.
